1. Is Chiropractic care safe for children?

2. Why do children need Chiropractic care?

 

Checking a Child’s Nervous system with a comprehensive chiropractic examination can determine if there is any disconnection or misalignments that hinder the proper development and function of the Central Nervous system.

 

3. How long and how often will a child need to come for care?

 

How long and how often a child comes for Chiropractic care is determined by a patient’s Health Goals and what condition the spine and Central Nervous System are in.  These are determined in a Chiropractic examination .

 

4. Are there different kinds of Chiropractic care ?

 

There are different techniques that range from a gentle to a more energetic approach to spinal adjustments. The Doctors of……are familiar with and use different techniques and intensity based on each patients specific needs.

 

5.  Is there risk of injury?

6.  What is the “cracking “sound?

 

The sound that a spine makes when releasing tension vary depending on the amount of tension in a misaligned joint.  A common concern is that this noise is harmful. It is not and the most common response to an adjustment with this noise -and the release of tensioning spinal joint-is how good it feels .

 

7.  Should I inform my child’s pediatrician that they are seeing a Kiro Kidz Doctor ?

8.  What is the focus of a Chiropractor with a child?

 

The most important focus of care with children in Chiropractic is the assessment of nervous system function and proper spinal alignment.

 

9. Can a child be over adjusted /

 

The determination of where and when to adjust is based on an evaluation of joint misalignment/tesnsion, relative nerve connection and stability of surrounding muscles . When this is done the determination of when to or NOT to adjust is made.

 

10. Will they need care forever?

 

The maintaining of nerve function/connection and spinal alignment is important .  Each patient determines how long they will use Chiropractic care based on priorities, response to care and finances.

 

11. How do you determine a care plan?

 

A plan for care is determined by a thorough , comprehensive examination that includes objective and subjective findings .

 

12 Injury ? Because the bones are/aren’t fully formed?

 

Yes.  It is safe to adjust even when the bones are not fully formed.  It is even recommended, when needed, to ensure they form properly.

 

13.  Are their different ways to adjust a child?

 

There are a variety of approaches and techniques to adjusting children that take into consideration the unique qualities of a Childs tissues , possible misalignments, subluxations and individual levels of comfort with the adjusting process

 

14.  Is pediatric care researched? Any case studies?

 

Yes. There are many case studies, testimonials, and peer reviewed research that proves the benefits of pediatric chiropractic care. 15.  When should a child be evaluated by a pediatric  chiropractor?

 

Research suggests that early detection of structural misalignments , which can occur during birth or cesarean, may prevent poor /disconnected nervous system function affecting all aspects of a newborn’s development. For this reason , it s recommended that all babies be checked in there first two weeks.

 

16.  What causes a subluxation ( spinal misalignment)?

 

Misalignments of the spine that affect the CNS are called subluxations. Subluxationin children are commonly caused by “ mechanical” to “physical” to “emotional “ STRESS. Stress causes Subluxations.

 

17.  How does a pediatric Chiropractor adjust a newborn?

 

Utmost care and consideration is given before a newborn is adjusted . Very little pressure is needed in adjusting a newborn and -because subluxation when found early and relatively new - they respond much faster to chiropractic care than adults.
